The Issues At Hand

Time for Change

Learn more about Jason B. Rees' position on the issues facing our state.

The Environment

Key Policy

Sustainable, distributed energy production is key to preservation of our environment and to the future of our state.  Though I will not support any government subsidy (redistribution of wealth) for this purpose, we need to push for tax breaks and other incentives to foster progress toward a sustainable future.

Education

The Stakes are High

Having taught mathematics in high school, college, university, and now in Jackson prisons for the past 13 years, education is very near and dear to my heart.

Education should be left to the educators (not the politicians), and there should be a free market for schools.

Voucher programs and for-profit, private schools give parents freedom to choose and power over their child's education.  Such an open market can lead to the creation of magnet schools, technical schools, and all sorts of other inovations that can benefit students of all different abilities.

Health Care

For a Better Future

I entirely support the Libertarian Platform: "We favor a free-market health care system. We recognize the freedom of individuals to determine the level of health insurance they want (if any), the level of health care they want, the care providers they want, the medicines and treatments they will use and all other aspects of their medical care, including end-of-life decisions. People should be free to purchase health insurance across state lines."
